Privacy notice
This notice explains how SABR & STEEL CIC (“we”, “us”) uses the personal information you give us through this website. We are a community interest company registered in England & Wales, company number 16977992. We are the data controller for this information. Contact: salaam@sabrandsteel.com.
What we collect
Only what you type into our forms: your name, email address and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, area, age group, training level, the activities, courses or membership you are interested in, and any message you write.
Please do not send us details about your health through the website. If something about your health matters for training, tell us when we speak in person.
Why we use it
- To reply to you and to send the information you asked for — for example meeting points and times for runs, course dates, or news about Shura membership and chapters.
- If you subscribe to the Dawn Dispatch or the shop notification, to send you those emails.
- To keep a record of who has registered for sessions.
Our lawful basis is your consent (you tick the box or subscribe) and our legitimate interest in running our activities safely and replying to enquiries. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.
Who sees it
If you join our WhatsApp community, your name and phone number are visible to the community admins and, depending on the group settings, to other members. WhatsApp’s own privacy policy applies there, and you can leave at any time.
Form submissions are emailed to our inbox, which is provided by Zoho Mail, and a backup copy is stored on our web hosting account with HostGator. We do not sell your information or share it with anyone for marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep registration and enquiry details for as long as you are involved with us and for up to 24 months after our last contact, then delete them. Email-list details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts are hosted on our own server, so no information is sent to third-party font services. Your browser may remember small preferences (such as which Journal category you selected) on your own device.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. Email salaam@sabrandsteel.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
